Offering courses on restoration techniques for violin makers and restorers in cooperation with the University of Applied Science Markneukirchen.

COURSES IN MARKNEUKIRCHEN

We work in small groups of up to six in the university’s beautiful workshops, allowing participants to learn from their own projects and those of their peers. And because the school offers restoration as part of their training program, it is equipped with all the necessary machinery and materials.

In preparation for the course, participants will typically send me a description, and pictures, of the project on which they’d like to work. This could be an instrument they would like to restore or a particular problem they want to discuss.

During the course we will then develop a restoration plan for the participants’ instruments, agreeing which steps can be completed during the course and how the project can be finalised in the participant’s home workshop.
